Keiser M3i Exercise Bike

Keiser wanted to build the perfect exercise bike, combining a true-to-outdoor-cycling feel, and smooth, quiet resistance. Keiser were the first to use magnetic resistance—which is now an industry standard—and in doing so managed to create an exercise bike which could offer a challenging, road-bike-style workout while also being smooth and quiet. The M3i uses a 3kg flywheel, which is lighter than many other bikes use. The single Poly-V belt produces the higher speeds necessary to create smooth and powerful magnetic resistance. Because of the single Poly-V belt (which is unlike other bikes), the Keiser M3i can use a lighter flywheel and spin to generate limitless, smooth, quiet, magnetic resistance. The drivetrain used here is the same as the automotive industry uses because it’s so durable, reliable, and quiet. The engineering process for the M3i is in-depth and subject to daily quality tests, and is certified to the internationally-recognised TUV industry standard. The resistance that can be achieved with this bike is limitless, as in, can be increased until the bike comes to an absolute stop, which means even the most advanced indoor cyclist will be able to get a tough and productive workout. The M3i is ideal for indoor group cycling, in exercise classes, such is its durable, powerful design and the quality of the ride’s feel.  

Featuring a stripped-back, essentials-only display style, the M3i’s integrated workout console has been designed to keep you focused on what’s important. Instead of having multiple screens to cycle through to get the metric you want, the key stats are displayed on a single screen. This simple, pared-back screen eliminates the need for any buttons, which can distract mid-workout, and can require maintenance down the line. The display is backlit, which automatically turns on when the light in the room drops below a certain level. Thanks to the extremely high standard of quality control, certified by TUV, the M3i is recognised for the accuracy of its ride data.  

These bikes have been designed and manufactured to the highest standards, built to a standard of quality suitable for professional use in commercial gyms and fitness classes. The flywheel is located at the back of the bike, which helps prevent rust and wear by keeping it out of the user’s sweat zone. There’s even consideration been given in the design of the frame to divert sweat away from the important parts of the bike, using an angled channel to flow sweat away from the drivetrain. The Poly-V belt’s pre-tension design doesn’t require adjustment, which means the drivetrain won’t require regular maintenance. Keiser has long been the go-to brand for group indoor cycling. The front-mounted, in-built transport wheels, coupled with the efficient 42kg frame, makes moving the bike simple and easy.  

The M3i’s handlebars and seat can be raised or lowered to fit the user. The V-shape frame closely replicates the feel and setup of an outdoor road bike, and the adjustment of the handlebar and saddle is suitable for users between 4’10” and 7’ tall, encompassing a huge demographic. The adjustment is easy to operate, using a knob for height adjustment and a separate handle for adjusting the saddle and handlebar horizontally (forward and backwards). The maximum weight capacity for the bike is 159kg, which accommodates a variety of users. The crank arms are designed to fit any rider, using a curved style to fit wider hips and bulkier shoes. The SPD pedals feature a cage which is engineered into the pedal instead of attached on later, and the curvature supports pressure points on the user’s foot.
