Life Fitness Row HX Trainer Rowing Machine

I purchased the Life Fitness HX rower a couple of weeks back as I was unable to source a ‘Water Rower’ without waiting 6-8 weeks for delivery. I explained my training needs with the staff at Powerhouse and they advised me that the Life Fitness model was comparable. Having only previously used Concept rowers I was unsure if the LF HX Rower would be suitable for my needs. I needn’t have worried. I’m 6’1” and 90+ kilo’s with fairly long limbs and the HX Rower fits me fine. The assembly was easy and the product is robust and of high quality. In operation the rower has a smooth pulling motion and the the seat glides easily (and quietly) along the guide rails. The sound of the water whilst rowing is quite soothing and substantially quieter than using an air rower and provides consistent resistance. There are only four levels of resistance but I have found Level 1 to be sufficient for Zone 1-2 training giving a good fat burn workout whilst level 2 offers far greater resistance taking me into Zone 3 comfortably. On a like for like session there’s a difference of 25 to 30 watts difference between L1 and L2 for me. I’ve not felt the need to use Level 3 and 4 yet as I’m still doing 10,000m sessions although I’m confident they will offer sufficient resistance for strength training. The display is clear but very basic giving a display of time, ave 500m, strokes per min, watts, calories per hour and resistance level. There is a facility to show HR data but this needs the specific Life Fitness Heart Rate sensor which is not supplied. A major oversight in my opinion and this costs an additional £80. Other than that the HX rower; so far; has proven to be an excellent purchase. Lastly, when assembled the rower can be stored upright and takes up very little room which is really convenient if space is an issue.

Fantastic wooden water rower. It looks very stylish in my living room and you can store it upwards so it doesn't take up much space when not in use. The water resistance is very effective and creates a pleasant sound as you row. It's as close as you can get to rowing outdoors. Excellent!

This is a superb rower from Life Fitness, build quality is great and well worth the investment. Smooth feel with the water resistance. Highly Recommend

Fantastic product, The build quality is second to none. Also really like how it folds for storage as i live in a high rise building. I would recommend purchasing the Life Fitness HX rowing machine.

Been looking for a while, Can't touch this one, looks amazing and the finish is amazing, real head turner even as a folded unit in my apartment.

This rower is perfect! I tested this product in one Powerhouse Fitness Store and it seened like the perfect product for me and my family. It was delivered promtly, secure and would extremely recommend it!

I bought this rowing machine even though it cost a decent amount. It's the best thing ive bought in years, use it almost everday and lost loads of weight using this machine. It's easily stored upright so doesnt take up too much space. and the noise from the water is very soothing.

I got a water rower by Life Fitness - it is a great piece of kit. I wouldn't have ordered it though had I not gone into a shop to try it out. The lady who helped me was helpful - and the free delivery and assembly sold the deal.

Wir sind mit dem Produkt sehr zufrieden. Da wir das Rudergerät im Wohnzimmer benutzen war für uns, neben hoher Qualität vor allem auch das Design ausschlaggebend. Der Aufbau war einfach und hat ca. eine Stunde gedauert - dann konnte es losgehen. Die Verarbeitung wirkt hochwertig, auch durch regelmäßiges aufstellen und umlegen wackelt nix. Es können verschiedenen Widerstandsstärken eingestellt werden und das Fußteil kann je nach Körpergröße umgestellt werden - bei uns benutzen das Gerät 2 Personen, daher finden wir die einfache Umstellung sehr praktisch. Nach längerem Rudern würde ich mir ergonomischer Griffe wünschen, für mich sind die Griffe eher zu dünn. Ein Vorteil ist aber der, gegnüber anderen Modellen breitere Griff, sodass man wirklich mit paralellen Armen rudern kann. Insgesamt wurden unsere Erwartungen erfüllt, wir sind sehr zufrieden und rudern gerne! Letztendlich hat uns aber auch die gute Beratung im shop in Linz geholfen das für unsere Ansprüche richtige Gerät zu kaufen und es richtig zu benutzen (sogar richtige Haltung und so wurden uns erklärt).
