TANITA RD-953 Smart Body Composition Scale

My first impressions of my Tanita scales are great, they look modern in my house. I love the colour of the digital display and how it syncs with the Tanita App. The app helps me understand my body measurements and see how my muscle mass is improving with frequent gym workouts. It’s very interesting tracking my weight and seeing it on a diagram to see where my weight and BMI change weekly since staring my weight loss plan. I can’t wait to continue using the scales with the app and will get my partner set up so we can Track our progress together. I like that you can switch between weight measurements and even add the weight of your phone or any clothing so it doesn’t include that in your final weight measurement. Overall a great scales for any fitness enthusiast or anyone wanting to track their measurements, a high price but the quality of the results matches that.

Loved the aesthetics of this scale and the careful packaging. Took a while to get set up as didn't realize they you didn't need to turn the scales on before syncing. My partner set his details in the machine and worked well for both of us. I weighed and took measurements every night after a bath wearing same clothes. Loved the choice of readings given and used the Tanita website to find out the meaning. It has certainly made me much more aware in understanding my body. I would have liked to have a more in depth manual in the box explaining the functions. I found that weighing nightly there was quite a lot of deviation in weight and metabolic age over the 6 weeks or so. Would be interested to know why this is. Scale was positioned in same place every night I love the scales but probably better suited to athletes because of the price

Really stylish and sleek looking scales that seem to give you a measurement for everything body wise. Blew me away seeing all the different options available. Instructions are clear and easy to follow, app is a bit temperamental but hopefully that will improve with updates.

The measurements feel accurate to me, and the product is really unique in that it can measure muscle quality and water composition, which is something I haven’t seen before. Technology is moving fast so I decided to upgrade my vintage scales for something snazzy and modern, that’s when I stumbled across Tanita. My scales did take a while to arrive and tracking the delivery was near impossible but they were well wrapped when they arrived after around 4 days. Straight from opening the box, I could tell that these scales felt sleek and professional. The function buttons seemed so straightforward and were really responsive without being overly sensitive - perfect. The scales measure a whole host of my body measurements, from my hydration levels to my muscle mass and quality, it was super interesting to track my stats so easily via the app over a longer period of time. One thing to mention though is that the app can be glitchy and some times needs to be reloaded in order to connect to the scales but actually taking the measurements themselves was super quick!

This scale really impressed me, I have to say. It is my first ever scale that is connected to an app, but I like it. The initial setup took me about 3 minutes, and I was able to use it. I installed the app without an issue, but it took 2 tries to connect the scale via Bluetooth. Batteries already came included, which helped setting it up quickly. I got my first results immediately after stepping on the scale and was able to see them all in the app, in a graph as well as numbers. The design is very modern and stylish. It is slightly heavier than expected, though. I'm a visual person, so this feature is very appealing.

It took me a little while to figure out which reading corresponded to which, but the scales are really smart! However, when I tried to use them again, I had trouble reconnecting them to my phone. I had to make several attempts, and after some failed tries, it worked the next day. I'm not sure why they weren’t connecting, but it worked fine after that. It was a bit frustrating that they were temperamental, but I’m hoping it was just a one-off issue, as they’ve been fine since then. What I love about these scales is the wide range of measurements they offer. My metabolic age was a bit of an unpleasant surprise, but it was probably the reality check I needed! There are so many useful features, like measuring muscle quality, which sets these scales apart from others. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to focus on their health and gain a deeper understanding of it.

I’ve really enjoyed using these scales for the last few weeks. connecting the scales to the app was very easy and tracks movement of the different metrics over time, so you can see how your body composition has changed. Me and my partner have both got our own profiles set up and will continue using these scales.

The scales are impressive and look the part in my bathroom. All measurements are accurate and work well for all members of family. Setting up the scales was easy to do and connecting to the app. On the app it explains what all the measurements are and what the healthy range is. This is really useful as you know what to improve on. App also tracks all measurements every time you use scales.

New year new you! My family were excited and very interested in my purchase of the Tanita RD-953 scales. As a multigenerational household, the excellent features provided us all with information to assist us to proactively improve our overall health! The scales were easy to set up with the app on several phones and we have eagerly tracked our progress. For me the Total Body Water (TBW) % and BMI features have encouraged me to be more proactive with improving my health. This is a quality product from an industry known brand, instantly recognisable for it’s accuracy and reliability. We have continued our individual journeys and been inspired to stick to our plans to improve our fitness and wellbeing. I can not fault the quality and accuracy and am still very pleased with my investment!
