Standing in an upright position, users position their upper body against the chest support, grab the row handle, and pull the bar towards the chest. Unbeatable for the price.
Quality is great, zero complaints there.
Couple of design features that could be improved upon:
- The handles are slightly too thick in my opinion, certainly not what i'd class as a 'thick' grip, but definitely more than a standard barbell.
- A bigger issue is that if you're on the taller/longer-armed side, you might run into issues hitting that horizontal support beam when in the fully stretched position. I'm 6' with long(ish) arms, and even setting the chest pad at max height, i had to remove the rubber protection block from the underside of the moving arm part of the machine, and even then i can still just about touch it. If that horizonal support was welded a few inches lower, it'd be fine.
That said, there's not a machine i could find that comes close to the quality of this one for this price. The design is great overall, body position and force curve both feel very natural, and it's compact so even works in a home gym. If you're over 6', it's probably worth going to try it in store before buying.
